Wrexham are keeping close tabs on Lewis Koumas as they weigh up attacking alternatives to Nathan Broadhead.

With Ipswich Town hesitant to let Broadhead depart, Wrexham are exploring other versatile forward options—and Koumas is firmly on their radar. The 19-year-old spent last season on loan at Stoke City and now looks likely to leave Liverpool again, either on loan or permanently.

A number of Championship clubs are also in pursuit, with Hull City, Norwich City, Preston North End, Birmingham City, Sheffield United and Oxford United all credited with strong interest. Koumas faces a key career decision this summer, having fallen further down the Liverpool pecking order under Arne Slot.

Versatile, but Still Raw

Koumas made 43 appearances for Stoke in 2024/25 (26 starts), covering a range of attacking roles. Predominantly used as a winger on both flanks, he also featured centrally as a striker and attacking midfielder.

His flexibility and left-footed balance make him an intriguing proposition—especially for clubs seeking dynamic attacking depth.

🧠 What Wrexham See

While Koumas didn’t post standout attacking numbers, he played significant minutes for a mid-table Championship side at just 19. His experience, energy and tactical versatility are key assets—and make him a viable squad option for a promotion-chasing side like Wrexham.

Though initially viewed as a loan target, Wrexham may also explore a permanent deal if Liverpool are open to a sale.

Despite strong competition from within the Championship, Wrexham’s momentum, first-team pathway, and ambitious backing could make them an attractive next step in Koumas’ development.
