Millwall are considering a move for Massimo Luongo following his departure from Ipswich Town, with the 32-year-old midfielder currently training with the club ahead of a potential permanent deal.
According to reports from the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star, Luongo has been working with the Lions’ squad during pre-season as Alex Neil looks to strengthen his midfield options ahead of the 2025/26 Championship campaign.
Luongo was a key figure in Ipswich’s rise through the EFL, playing a pivotal role in their back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League. However, he made just 11 top-flight appearances last season and bid an emotional farewell to the Portman Road crowd on the final day against West Ham.
Millwall narrowly missed out on the play-offs last season, finishing eighth, and see Luongo’s experience and leadership as a valuable addition as they look to mount another promotion push.
A move to The Den would mark a return to South London for Luongo, who previously played for QPR and has extensive Championship experience.
