Charlton Athletic are taking a close look at Wolves right-back Dexter Lembikisa, who is currently on trial with the newly promoted Championship side following a string of senior loans and international appearances.
The 21-year-old, who has already amassed experience in the Championship, League One, Scottish Premiership and Swiss Super League, featured in Wednesday’s 3-0 friendly win over Wealdstone — with respected local reporter Louis Mendez confirming his identity post-match.
Lembikisa remains under contract at Wolves but is understood to be available either on loan or permanently as the Premier League club reshape their squad under Vítor Pereira. The Jamaica international is eager to secure regular senior football after a nomadic 2024/25 season.
The former Rotherham United and Hearts loanee spent the second half of last season at Barnsley in League One, where he made 12 appearances as they reached the play-offs.
Charlton boss Nathan Jones has made no secret of his desire to add athleticism and versatility in wide areas, and Lembikisa’s track record as a modern attacking full-back fits the bill. His ability to play as both a conventional right-back and wing-back could offer depth behind Tyreece Campbell, who is expected to operate further forward this season.
The defender’s connection to several current Charlton players — including Jamaica teammates Karoy Anderson, Kaheim Dixon and Amari’i Bell — may further help with integration if the Addicks opt to pursue a deal.
