Cardiff CityCrawley Town, and Walsall have all activated the release clause for Isaac Lee, the highly-rated young centre-back currently at Flint Town in the Cymru Premier, according to Football League World.

With the clause now triggered, all three EFL clubs are expected to hold talks with the 20-year-old defender, who will now decide which move best suits his next step in senior football. The exact fee remains undisclosed.

Lee, who stands at 6’6”, enjoyed a standout 2024/25 campaign in Wales, making 30 appearances and playing a key role in Flint’s successful battle against relegation. His performances earned him both the Young Player of the Season and Fans’ Player of the Season awards at the club.

He began his career in Stoke City’s academy, before moving to Radcliffe FC in 2023. After four loan spells, he found his feet at Flint Town, where he eventually signed permanently in January.

A return to the English pyramid now looks highly likely, with League One-bound Cardiff City among the frontrunners. The Bluebirds are rebuilding under new manager Brian Barry-Murphy, and see Lee as a key defensive addition following a season where they conceded 73 goals in the Championship.

Crawley Town and Walsall are also pushing hard for the defender’s signature, with both clubs keen to add height and defensive presence ahead of the new League Two campaign.

Lee’s profile — aerially dominant, defensively disciplined, and physically imposing — makes him an attractive proposition for any EFL side looking for a long-term asset in central defence.
