Josh Sargent is edging closer to a summer exit from Norwich City, with Wolfsburg and Burnley both reportedly nearing the Canaries’ valuation for the 25-year-old striker.

According to multiple sources including journalist Samuel Seaman, the two clubs are “getting closer” to matching Norwich’s asking price — believed to be in the region of £20 million.

Sargent was a standout performer during the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 15 goals in 32 appearances despite missing several weeks through injury. His contract at Carrow Road runs until 2028, giving Norwich significant leverage in negotiations.

The USA international has also attracted interest from Leeds United, but as it stands, Burnley and Wolfsburg are furthest along in the race.

Sargent has scored 48 goals in 133 games for the Canaries in all competitions since arriving from Werder Bremen, and the club is under no pressure to sell following Borja Sainz’s £14.25m move to Porto earlier this window.

A move appears likely, and Norwich will now need to ensure suitable reinforcements are in place should their star forward depart.
