Blackburn Rovers are set to complete the signing of Moussa Baradji from Swiss outfit Yverdon Sports, according to reports from journalist Elliott Jackson.
The 24-year-old midfielder is expected to undergo a medical shortly, with a deal agreed between the clubs said to be worth £1.5 million. Baradji could be unveiled as a Rovers player before the weekend, as preparations continue ahead of their upcoming pre-season fixture against Accrington Stanley.
Despite Yverdon’s relegation from the Swiss Super League last season, Baradji was one of the club’s standout performers. He made 27 appearances (23 starts) in the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists from central midfield.
Rovers boss Valerien Ismael is looking to strengthen his squad after narrowly missing out on a play-off place last season. With his team targeting a promotion push, Baradji is seen as a player who can add both energy and technical quality to the midfield.
The move also aligns with Blackburn’s strategy of targeting emerging talent from across Europe, with Baradji regarded as one of the Swiss league’s brightest performers in a difficult campaign for his club.
If the final stages of the deal go smoothly, Baradji will join up with the Rovers squad mid-preseason and could be in line for a debut in the club’s early friendly fixtures.
