Birmingham City are reportedly on the verge of signing Werder Bremen striker Marvin Ducksch, with the German international identified as a key piece in Chris Davies’ attacking rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 Championship season.
The Blues are currently leading the race to sign the 31-year-old forward, despite strong interest from Greek club PAOK Salonika. Negotiations with Bremen are reportedly progressing well, with a £6 million fee under discussion.
Ducksch has only 12 months remaining on his contract with the Bundesliga club, and Birmingham remain optimistic about finalizing the deal despite current PSR (Profit and Sustainability Regulation) restrictions. After securing high-profile signings such as Kyogo Furuhashi, Demarai Gray, and Tommy Doyle this summer, adding Ducksch would further highlight the club’s ambition to achieve back-to-back promotions following their League One title success.
Standing at 6’2”, Ducksch is known in Germany for his strong physical presence and inventive play. Over the past three Bundesliga seasons with Bremen, he has netted 34 goals and delivered 25 assists, solidifying his status as one of the most impactful forwards in the German top tier.
His arrival would help fill the void left by Alfie May, who joined Huddersfield Town earlier this week.
Marvin Ducksch – Key FotMob Stats (Bundesliga – 2024/25):
• 36 appearances
• 9 goals
• 10 assists
• 7.3 average match rating
• 28 starts, 2,769 minutes played
• Ranked in the top 10 Bundesliga forwards for assists and big chances created

Chris Davies is looking to add more firepower alongside Gray and Furuhashi, and Ducksch could be the perfect fit — a proven goal scorer with the experience and tactical savvy to spearhead the attack in England’s second division.
His potential arrival also casts doubt over the future of Lyndon Dykes, with the Scotland international facing increased competition for minutes.
