Millwall have completed the permanent signing of 21-year-old left-back Zak Sturge from Chelsea, with the former Brighton academy graduate becoming the club’s third addition of the summer.
Sturge impressed during a short loan spell at The Den last season, featuring in five matches, including the final three games of the campaign. His energy, composure on the ball, and one-v-one defending earned praise from staff and supporters alike.
The move marks a significant investment in youth by Millwall, with Sturge signing a long-term deal and taking the No.3 shirt for the 2025/26 season.
🗣️ “He was excellent when called upon,” said Director of Football Steve Gallen. “He’s got a great left foot, defends well, and has the personality we want around the squad. It’s a signing that shows the direction we’re heading.”
Sturge previously came through the ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion before joining Chelsea and spending time on loan with Peterborough United.
This deal signals another proactive step by Millwall in a busy summer window as they prepare for a top-six push in the upcoming Championship season.
