Reading have completed the signing of Kamari Doyle on a season-long loan from Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder arrives at the Select Car Leasing Stadium off the back of two impressive loan spells in League One during the 2024/25 season — first with Exeter City and later with Crawley Town.
Doyle will wear the number 29 shirt for the Royals and is available for selection ahead of this weekend’s home clash with Huddersfield Town.
Proven Quality at League One Level
Doyle began his professional journey with Southampton, making his senior debut at just 16 in an EFL Trophy fixture against Charlton Athletic. He signed his first pro deal on his 17th birthday and quickly established himself as a standout at youth level — helping the Saints win both the U18 Premier League South and Premier League 2 Division 2 titles, as well as reaching the FA Youth Cup semi-finals.
After making his Premier League debut for Southampton in May 2023, Doyle moved to Brighton in January 2024, where he continued his development with two valuable loan moves.
At Exeter, he made 24 appearances and scored four goals in the first half of last season. After being recalled in January, Doyle joined Crawley Town and added another 7 goals in 21 matches, emerging as a key performer despite the club’s relegation.
A Creative Midfield Boost
Speaking to the club website, manager Noel Hunt said:
“There was a lot of interest in Kamari from other clubs at our level, which shows how highly he’s rated.
We’re really pleased to have secured his services. He’s a technically gifted player with great vision and bravery on the ball.
Kamari has already shown he can perform at this level with two strong loan spells. He brings creativity, energy, and goal threat to our midfield.”
