Notts County have confirmed the loan signing of highly-rated centre-back Sonny Aljofree from Manchester United for the 2025/26 season.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan at Accrington Stanley, where he impressed with 27 appearances in League Two. His performances caught the attention of several clubs, but it’s the Magpies who have won the race for his signature this time around.
A product of United’s academy, Aljofree was part of the FA Youth Cup-winning side in 2022, playing alongside the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Dan Gore. He also gained experience with a flexi-loan at Altrincham in 2024 before a full season at Accrington.
Aljofree is contracted at Old Trafford until summer 2026, and this loan represents another step in his development, with Notts looking to build on their sixth-place finish last term and push for promotion.
The Magpies will hope Aljofree brings added stability and composure to their back line as they gear up for another League Two campaign.
