Norwich City striker Josh Sargent has completed a permanent move to VfL Wolfsburg, returning to the Bundesliga after three years in England.

The 25-year-old US international, who originally joined the Canaries from Werder Bremen in 2021 for around £8 million, enjoyed a strong personal campaign last season with 15 goals in 32 appearances in all competitions.

Despite Norwich missing out on promotion, Sargent’s form attracted interest from clubs in Germany and beyond — with Wolfsburg ultimately winning the race for his signature.

The forward previously made 70 Bundesliga appearances for Bremen, scoring 11 goals before Norwich made their move. During his time in Norfolk, he scored 48 times in 133 appearances and became a key figure in the side.

Sargent has 28 caps for the United States, and a return to Germany’s top flight is expected to boost his standing in the national team setup ahead of the 2026 World Cup on home soil.
