Coventry City will confirm the signing of Daniel Pereira from MLS side Austin FC in a deal worth around £3 million.
The 25-year-old Venezuelan becomes the Sky Blues’ third addition of the summer window, following the arrivals of Miguel Angel Brau and Kaine Kesler-Hayden, as Frank Lampard continues to reshape his squad for another push at promotion in the 2025/26 Championship campaign.
Pereira made 142 appearances for Austin FC, and was a standout performer in the MLS over the past two seasons. He’s also picked up seven international caps for Venezuela since making his debut in 2023.
This season, Pereira had contributed one goal and one assist in 17 games, impressing with his ability to dictate play from deep and win back possession. His stats include 708 successful passes, 87 recoveries, 14 interceptions, and 61 duels won.
Born in Venezuela and raised in the United States, Pereira is highly rated for his energy, vision and ball-carrying ability — and is expected to compete immediately for a starting role in midfield.
Lampard now has a wealth of central options at his disposal, with Pereira joining Matt Grimes, Ben Sheaf, Victor Torp, Josh Eccles and Jamie Allen in a crowded engine room.
Pereira has signed a multi-year deal at the CBS Arena.
