Stoke City have officially confirmed the signing of veteran left-back Aaron Cresswell on a free transfer.

The 35-year-old joins on a one-year deal with an option for a further 12 months, following his departure from West Ham United earlier this summer.

Cresswell made over 330 Premier League appearances during his 11 seasons at the London Stadium and brings a wealth of top-flight experience to Mark Robins’ Championship squad.

This comes after our 🟥 ZONE RUMOURED post earlier, which revealed Stoke had beaten Wrexham and Norwich City to the deal.

A Leader at the Back

With over 600 senior career appearances to his name, including spells at TranmereIpswich, and West Ham, Cresswell adds leadership and versatility to the Stoke defence. He is expected to play at either left-back or as part of a back three.

The move provides an experienced replacement for Enda Stevens and is seen as a signal of Stoke’s intent to push further up the Championship table this season.
