Lamine Cissé’s spell at SC Bastia looks set to end, with the forward closing in on a permanent move to Stoke City this summer.

French journalist Mohamed Toubache-Ter reports that Cissé will travel to England on Sunday for a medical with the Championship club. Stoke have agreed a deal with the Ligue 2 side for the 22-year-old’s transfer.

Deal details

The agreement is worth £2.1 million up front, with a possible £850,000 in bonuses. While contract terms have not been disclosed, the player and club are believed to have settled personal details as part of the talks.

Cissé joined Bastia last summer after leaving Nancy on a free transfer. His departure will bring a healthy profit for the Corsican club after just one season.

Versatile attacking option

The forward can operate across the attacking line. Last season, he played mainly as a striker but also featured on both wings and in an attacking midfield role. He scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists in 34 appearances for Bastia.

Stoke manager Mark Robins is reshaping his squad ahead of the new campaign. Cissé’s arrival would add pace, versatility, and extra goal threat to the Potters’ attack.

What’s next

If the move goes through as expected, Cissé will become one of Stoke’s standout signings of the summer window. His addition comes as the Potters aim to climb the Championship table and challenge for a top-half finish.
