Stockport County have re-signed defender Brad Hills from Norwich City in a deal worth up to £2m.

The 21-year-old returns to Edgeley Park after a standout loan spell last season, with the Hatters paying an initial fee of over £1m. Performance-related add-ons could take the total value beyond £2m.

Hills, a Norwich academy graduate, built his reputation during loan stints with Accrington Stanley and Stockport, where he became a key figure in the club’s promotion push in 2024/25. His commanding aerial ability and defensive composure quickly made him a fan favourite.

Despite breaking through at Norwich, competition from new signings and experienced defenders saw his first-team opportunities limited, paving the way for a permanent switch.

Stockport moved swiftly to bring Hills back to Greater Manchester, viewing him as a long-term defensive leader as they aim for another promotion challenge in League One.
