Salford City have secured the signing of 29-year-old centre-back Michael Rose on a three-year deal, adding Championship pedigree to their squad.

Rose began his career at his boyhood club Aberdeen, progressing through their youth system before moving on loan to Forfar Athletic and later joining Ayr United. He notably led Ayr to the Scottish League One title in 2018 before signing for Coventry City in 2019. At Coventry, he played a key role in their 2020 League One title-winning campaign, helping them secure 13 clean sheets in 30 starts. He then spent the 2023-24 season at Stoke City.

Commenting on the move, Rose said:

“I will try to bring my experience… I’ve not played in League Two before… but this is a project here that I am quite excited about… I want to move back up with the Club—I’ve done it previously, and hopefully we do that here as well.”

Salford’s recruitment drive continues to build a squad capable of pushing for promotion.
