Everton are reportedly weighing up a move for Norwich City right-back Kellen Fisher as David Moyes looks to add depth and competition to his defensive options before the transfer window closes.
According to Football Insider, the 21-year-old is firmly on Everton’s radar following an impressive breakthrough campaign in the Championship. The Toffees had been exploring a free transfer move for Fulham’s Kenny Tete, but with the Dutchman now committed to Craven Cottage, attention has turned to alternative targets — with Fisher emerging near the top of the list.
Norwich determined to keep hold of Fisher
The Canaries are in a strong position to resist any approach. Fisher signed a new long-term deal less than a year ago, keeping him at Carrow Road until the summer of 2028, with an option for a further year. That security means any sale would be entirely on Norwich’s terms, with the club able to demand a significant fee.
Everton’s interest comes at a time when Norwich have already seen winger Borja Sainz depart for Porto and face ongoing speculation over the future of star striker Josh Sargent. New head coach Liam Manning will be keen to keep hold of his most promising young talents after a 13th-place finish last term.
From non-league to the Championship
Fisher’s rise has been rapid. Starting out in non-league with Bromley, he also had spells at Wellington United and Cray Wanderers before helping Bromley to a National League play-off campaign in 2022/23. His performances earned him a £100,000 move to Norwich in the summer of 2023.
Initially used sparingly, he made 14 appearances across all competitions in his first season. However, under then-manager Johannes Hoff Thorup, Fisher cemented his place in the starting XI last year, racking up 38 Championship appearances and contributing four assists from right-back.
Consistent defensive performer
Fisher has also impressed with England’s Under-20s, showing the athleticism and defensive awareness that have caught Everton’s attention. His ability to deliver in both defensive and attacking phases makes him an appealing option for Moyes, who is seeking competition for Jake O’Brien and Nathan Patterson.

What this could mean for Everton
While Fisher may not be expected to start immediately, his age, potential and current output suggest he could be a long-term solution at right-back. For Norwich, losing him this late in the window would be a major blow, especially with a promotion push in mind.
