Wrexham defender Sebastian Revan has joined League One side Burton Albion on a season‑long loan, as officially confirmed by Burton’s website  .

After signing for Wrexham last summer from Aston Villa, Revan found consistent gametime hard to come by in the Red Dragons’ squad that achieved consecutive promotions. With just 19 appearances in his first season—nine of which were starts—a move to Burton promises valuable minutes for the versatile defender  .

Versatility and Potential

Revan, who joined Wrexham in July 2024, is capable of playing both centrally and on the left side of defence. He made 36 appearances on loan at Rotherham United in the Championship the previous season, showcasing his adaptability and athleticism  . His ability to slot into Burton’s typically deployed 3‑4‑3 system—especially in the left three—adds vital depth for manager Gary Bowyer.

Bowyer, impressed by the player’s attributes, commented:

“I’m delighted to have Seb join us… He is a good one‑v‑one defender and is exciting going forward. He will fit in with how we want to play.”

Development Pathway

At 22, this loan move is viewed as critical for Revan’s growth—providing him with regular first‑team football in a competitive League One environment. Though Wrexham’s squad is strong, featuring experienced defenders like James McClean and Conor Coady, a solid season at Burton could pave the way for a bigger role in North Wales next year.
