Peterborough United have seen another offer turned down for highly-rated centre-back Connor Taylor, according to Football Insider.
Darren Ferguson’s side had already seen one approach rejected earlier this window, and their renewed bid – worth a reported £450,000 – has also been knocked back by Bristol Rovers.
The 23-year-old was a standout performer last season for the Gas, earning the club’s Player of the Season award despite their relegation to League Two. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Posh identifying him as a key defensive target as they look to rebuild ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Taylor joined Bristol Rovers permanently from Stoke City in 2023, after impressing during a previous loan spell at the Memorial Stadium. With only 12 months left on his contract, the League Two club may be tempted to cash in if the right offer comes in – though they’re believed to value the player higher than the current bid.
Peterborough are expected to return with an improved offer in the coming days, hopeful of adding Taylor to a backline that conceded 81 goals last season – the second-worst defensive record in League One.
Having already brought in Sam Hughes from Burton Albion this summer, Posh continue their defensive overhaul in a bid to return to the top half of the table.
