Portsmouth have agreed a deal worth £1.2 million to sign Hungarian midfielder Márk Kosznovszky from MTK Budapest, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old has been attracting interest across Europe following a standout season in the Hungarian top flight, where he registered 3 goals and 5 assists in 30 appearances in all competitions.
Kosznovszky, a Hungary U21 international, is known for his intelligent distribution, press resistance, and tactical versatility — qualities that fit the profile Portsmouth were seeking to bolster their midfield ahead of the 2025/26 Championship season.
The club moved quickly to secure the deal after battling off competition from Swansea City, who were also keen on landing the midfielder. Talks are now expected to progress swiftly over personal terms and a medical.
Kosznovszky will become John Mousinho’s latest addition as Pompey look to build on survival and push higher up the table in their second year back in the second tier.
